These gooey, rich Christmas chocolate brownies topped with your favourite Christmas chocolates makes a delicious festive treat or Christmas dessert.
Christmas desserts often tend to be full of similar flavours – dried fruits, strong spices and perhaps a bit boozy. These flavours aren’t for everyone, and that’s where these brownies comes in.
I’ve used a decadent chocolate brownie base and topped with some of my favourite Christmassy chocolates. The joy here is that you can mix and match – go for your favourite Christmas chocolates and enjoy (it would be INCREDIBLE with after eights on top!)
Serve by itself or topped with ice cream, custard or cream.

Christmas Chocolate Brownies – The Ingredients
- Dark chocolate – for the brownie base. Dark chocolate will give you a richer flavour.
- Butter – use unsalted, otherwise your brownie will be too sweet.
- Sugar – caster sugar is best, but you can use white granulated sugar or soft brown sugar (this will give you a fudgier brownie).
- Eggs – use three medium or large eggs.
- Plain flour – use plain white flour, not self-raising.
- Cocoa powder – for an even more intense chocolatey-ness.
- Chocolate for topping – I used chocolate orange (a Christmas staple!), chocolate reindeers, green and red smarties, edible silver balls and sugar snowflakes. You can use any Christmas chocolates you prefer.
