Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
If your puff pastry is not ready rolled, roll it out into a large rectangle approx 0.5cm thick.
Spread the mincemeat over the whole of the puff pastry sheet. Sprinkle over the cranberries and dates.
From the longest edge, roll the puff pastry up into a spiral. Cut slices approximately 1 inch thick and lay down flat on a baking tray lined with baking parchment. You should get 10 spirals.
Crack the egg into a small bowl and beat. Use a pastry brush to brush it over the spirals.
Sprinkle the caster sugar over the top. Put in the oven for 20-30 minutes until risen and golden.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
In a small bowl, mix together the icing sugar and water to make a smooth icing. It should be drizzling consistency- add more water if it is too thick.
Use a spoon to roughly drizzle the icing over the spirals: let it set, then enjoy.
