Savoury Bakes and Pies

There’s just something magical about pie night, isn’t there? A golden crust (pastry, potato or otherwise), a hearty filling and that wonderful moment when everyone goes quiet because they’re too busy tucking in. For me, savoury bakes are the ultimate comfort food – the sort of thing you bring to the table when you want warmth, cosiness and maybe a little smugness that you’ve managed to get dinner and happiness wrapped up in pastry.

Here you’ll find some of my absolute favourites. The rich and rustic Coq au Vin (Chicken and Wine) Pie, the vibrant and a little bit fancy Beetroot, Feta and Tarragon Pie, and the ultra-comforting Beef and Ale and Cauliflower Cheese Pie all make a strong case for skipping the takeaway. And if you’re leaning veggie, there’s plenty to cosy up with – like Vegetarian Moussaka or cheesy Spinach and Brie Parcels. For leftover magic, Leftover Beef Cottage Pie is always a winner.

And because pies are just one corner of the baking world, you can always wander back to the main Bakes page to explore the full spread. In the mood for something sweet? Pop over to Muffins or Loaf Cakes. After a teatime treat? Biscuits, Cookies & Scones has plenty to choose from. And when the calendar says celebration, Festive Baking is ready and waiting.

So grab a fork, gather round the table, and let’s dive into the cosiest kind of dinner – a big plate of pie.
